DAY 27 OF 30

“And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh's daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses: and she said, Because I drew him out of the water.” Exodus ‭2‬:‭10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

What idea is God drawing out of you? That gift you’re preserving, that talent you’re hiding, that vision you’re concealing from the world—that baby, that invention, that witty idea you’re keeping to yourself—God is drawing you out of hidden waters and onto the scene for the world to see. Notice that the Bible says that Moses was a “goodly” baby.

“And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he was a goodly child, she hid him three months. And when she could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid it in the flags by the river's brink.” Exodus‬ ‭2‬:‭2‬-‭3‬ ‭KJV‬‬.

That idea is more than a “good” idea—it’s a “God-idea.” Moses was more than a “goodly” baby—he was God’s idea to deliver Israel. Your “good” idea may be God’s Plan to deliver generations out of bondage.

Maybe that “good” idea you’re hiding is meant to set many free. Maybe the “good” idea you’re holding back is meant to deliver generations. Perhaps the “good” idea you’re drawing back from is meant to deliver your family out of economic bondage.

Maybe God is trying to draw that “good” idea out of your mind and into the hands and homes of many. Your idea isn’t just a “good idea”; it’s a “God-idea."

Now 80 years later, that “goodly” baby had grown old, and Moses, after a series of events, found himself in the backside of the desert.

“Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb. And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed. And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt. And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I. And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground. Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God. And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows; and I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.” Exodus‬ ‭3‬:‭1‬-‭8‬ ‭KJV‬‬.

Now, Moses—the “goodly” baby—was 80 years old. According to Exodus‬ ‭7‬:‭7‬ ‭KJV‬‬, “And Moses was fourscore years old, and Aaron fourscore and three years old, when they spake unto Pharaoh.”

It’s never too late. At 80 years old, Moses was just getting started. That “good idea” that you’ve been hiding on the shelf for years, that “good idea” that you’ve been hiding behind the scenes, that “good idea” that’s been leading sheep in the backside of the desert—was actually called to lead millions of people to the forefront.

The idea you’re privately and partially executing is meant to impact millions across the world. That “good idea” wasn’t meant to be limited for the audience of the desert. Moses was built to lead millions and his legacy was meant to be written upon the hearts of millions, even billions, around the world. But instead, he was hiding in a place called Midian.

According to Strong’s Concordance, the Hebrew word ‘Midian’ (H4080) means “‭‭Strife." Moses was drawn out of the water as a baby for a God-given Purpose. Now, years later, Moses found himself hiding in Midian, leading a few sheep in the dry obscurity of the desert. Moses, the “goodly baby” and God’s idea, was now older and hiding in the backside of the desert.

Exodus‬ ‭3‬:‭3‬ ‭KJV‬‬ declares, “And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt.”

The obscurity of Midian offered Moses the opportunity to “turn." The isolation of Moses allowed him to pivot. It took Moses 80 years to “now turn." His pivot was pivotal to his success. Without Midian, Moses would have remained mediocre forever.

Whenever there’s a “Midian”—a place of strife or middle ground—God presents an opportunity to pivot. Your Legacy is based upon your ability to pivot. “Now turn," this is your Midian. This is your opportunity to pivot. Turn.
