DAY 5 OF 14

AS FOR ME - I AM SET APART

Walking out holy living; set apart for God.

Ps Nathan Simpson | Connect Church

Every follower of Jesus faces the same choice: will you blend in with the world around you, or will you live set apart for God? Being “set apart” means living differently because we belong to God. It’s not about being perfect, but about being willing to walk in holiness and obedience, even when it’s not popular. The Apostle Peter said that we have been chosen and called out of darkness, into the Father’s wonderful light. You have been called into the light, so why go back into the dark? Living set apart doesn’t happen by accident. The Apostle Paul tells us in Romans 12:2, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” In other words, it takes intentional choices every day to resist the world’s influences and let God shape how we think and live. Every time you choose His way over the world’s way, you’re living set apart.

So how do you walk this out every day?

1. Guard your influence.

Who or what is shaping your thoughts and habits? The voices you listen to will shape the

choices you make. 2 Timothy 2:21 says if we keep ourselves pure, we’ll be “instruments for

special purposes, made holy, useful to the Master.” Choose friends, media, and environments that fuel your fire for God, not extinguish it.

2. Live with bold conviction.

Being set apart means standing for truth even when it’s unpopular. Jesus said in Matthew

5:14–16, “You are the light of the world… let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” You might lose approval from some

people, but you gain the approval of your Father in heaven. Every bold choice for God strengthens your witness.

3. Stay close to Jesus daily.

Holiness isn’t something you achieve by willpower; it’s the overflow of intimacy with God. In

John 15:4–5, Jesus said, “Remain in Me, as I also remain in you… apart from Me, you can do nothing.” Pray, read the Word, and listen to the Holy Spirit every day. The closer you are to Him, the more His character will shine through you.

My prayer is that you won’t see “set apart” as a restriction, but as a privilege. God has marked you for a purpose only you can fulfill. Let your life be a declaration: As for me, I am set apart for God.

Application:

Review your daily influences. Do they draw you closer to God or away from Him? This week, make one bold choice to stand for God’s truth. Set a time each day to pray and read the Bible, even if it’s just 10 minutes, to grow in your relationship with Jesus.

About this Plan

As for Me - Post Youth Camp

The altar was only the beginning—now it’s time to walk in the power of your “yes” to God. This Bible plan will help you live out Joshua 24:15: “As for me…” Each day will stir your faith, strengthen boldness, and ignite a fire to stand for Jesus in your family, school, and generation. Through prayer, Scripture, and the Holy Spirit, you’ll be equipped to live unshaken. Camp lit the flame, but the fire is meant to fall in daily life. You are marked, chosen, and anointed to live with purpose and power for such a time as this.
