Romans 8
Painting a Picture
Paul paints a vivid picture: all creation is groaning, longing for freedom from decay, waiting for renewal. We too groan—our bodies break down, our souls ache, and our world is filled with pain. But this groaning is not hopeless; it’s compared to childbirth. The pain points to new life.
As believers, we live in this tension: we have the Spirit now, but we still long for full redemption. Our hope is anchored not in what we see but in what is promised. Suffering is real, but so is the glory to come—and the glory will far outweigh the groaning.
