How to Read Amosნიმუში

What is a Disciple?
Each of the four gospels teaches discipleship, and they do so in slightly different ways.
John’s gospel contains three statements defining discipleship and is therefore an excellent place to start.
‘If you hold to my teaching you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free. ’ John 8:31-32 (NIV)
‘A new command I give you: love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.’ John 13:34-35 (NIV)
‘This is to my Father’s glory that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.’ John 15:8 (NIV)
So, what is a disciple of Jesus?
Someone who holds to his teaching, loves other disciples in the way Jesus himself did, and as a result honours the Father by ‘bearing much fruit’.
What step forward can you take with Jesus in your discipleship today after reading Amos 7:10-17?
