How to Read Amosნიმუში

Amos In a Picture
At Bible for Life, we work to present the message of each book through contemporary media and one powerful way this is done is through pictures. A sort of modern-day stained-glass window.
Look at the picture that our artist, Liz, has made for Amos.
What does the picture communicate to you? What does it make you feel? Do you like it? What is the picture saying?
Amos 5:24 is probably the best-known verse in Amos, and it comes at the end of a short section where God, through his prophet, is addressing the very heart of the sin at Bethel, where powerful men and women were worshipping the Lord on the sabbath, and then dreadfully abusing the poor for the rest of the week.
Amos challenges them:
"I hate, I despise your religious festivals; your assemblies are a stench to me.
Even though you bring me burnt offerings and grain offerings I will not accept them. Though you bring choice fellowship offerings, I will not accept them.
Away with the noise of your songs! I will not listen to the music of your harps.
But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream."
Amos 5:21-24 (NIV)
Let me finish with a question: Are the courts in the country where you live places of justice?
