Flee Fornication
So, if we are to reflect the Love of Christ within the borders of our marriage, then sexual acts expressed outside the borders of marriage are considered a trespass and violation against God. 1 Corinthians 6:18 KJV declares, “Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.” 1 Corinthians 6:18 AMPC expands upon this principle and states, “Shun immorality and all sexual looseness [flee from impurity in thought, word, or deed]. Any other sin which a man commits is one outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.”
Choose to present your body and your sexual conduct as a living sacrifice, Holy, and acceptable unto God. Sex outside of marriage is a sin.
Additionally, 1 Corinthians 6:18 AMPC declares to, “Shun immorality and all sexual looseness [flee from impurity in thought, word, or deed].” The Bible declares for us to flee from impurity in thought, word, and deed. Present your thought-life as a living sacrifice, Holy, and acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
Christ, the Living Word—God in the flesh—declares in Matthew 5:28 KJV, “But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.” What’s in your heart? Who’s in your heart? Before it’s in the bed, it’s in your heart. Just because you did not commit the physical act, does not mean that you did not commit adultery. Let Christ lead and rule your thoughts.
If you’ve committed adultery in your heart, or if you’ve committed the physical act, take this moment to repent and turn back to God. Physical or emotional adultery is a covenant-breaching offense to God and to your spouse. Choose to repent and turn back to Him.
