5 Cornerstones of Godly Leadership

DAY 5 OF 5

Leaders Have Faith

Faith is seeing what God sees even when nothing around me seems to align with that. My whole journey—from the trailer park to the C-suite—was a walk of faith. Hebrews 11 reminds me that faith is the substance of what I hope for and the evidence of what I cannot see.

There were moments I felt completely unqualified to lead. But I kept walking. I kept saying yes to what God placed in front of me, even when I was terrified. That’s what faith does: moves us forward despite the fear.

We can tend to think that faith means complete confidence, with all uncertainty eliminated. But that’s not always true. We can still experience doubt, uncertainty, and fear when walking in faith. I’ve discovered that fear transcends those feelings. Faith isn’t about control or knowing everything ourselves; it’s about confidence in God’s promises. I don’t need to see the whole staircase to take the first step. And every time I choose faith, I grow stronger, braver, and more surrendered.

Reflect: What step of faith is God asking you to take next?

Prayer: God, I trust you. Help me walk by faith and not by sight.
