The Vision of His Glory by Anne Graham Lotzნიმუში

HOPE WHEN YOU ARE DISTRESSED . . . by Evil Alliances
Except for the vision of His glory, our distress over evil alliances will increase until that day, because the world will get progressively worse and more hostile to Christ and His people. But the vision of His glory gives us hope because it reveals that one day, Jesus Christ will return and assert His authority to rule the world!
---
Jesus is coming! He is coming one day to appear on earth in person, visibly and victoriously!
John looks, and with the same eyes that had seen Jesus Christ alive on earth in ministry . . . The same eyes that had seen Jesus Christ crucified, dead, and buried . . . The same eyes that had seen Him raised from the dead and ascend into heaven . . . The same eyes that had witnessed countless atrocities against those who bore His name . . .
Now those very eyes see the sky split open, revealing the visible, physical appearance of Jesus Christ! He will keep His Word! He will come back to rescue His people and to rule the world. John testifies, “I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war” (Revelation 19:11).
“His name is the Word of God” (Revelation 19:13b). The Bible that people even today deny, distort, dilute, defy, doubt, and disobey is the same as His name! While the Bible is the written Word of God, and Jesus Christ is the living Word of God, both are revelations of God. Oh, how careful we must be concerning our attitude and our handling of the Book, which is the Word of God! He considers our reception or rejection of the Bible to be reception or rejection of Himself.
Jesus Christ, the King of kings and Lord of lords, is so identified with it, it is His name!
When Jesus appears, John sees that He is not alone: “The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean” (Revelation 19:14). The army of heaven is the bride of Christ, coming from the wedding feast, still robed in her wedding gown, to share in the glory of her Bridegroom—to rule and reign with Him on earth!
There is no question as to His intention. He is returning to tread “the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty” (Revelation 19:15). He is returning to avenge and rescue His own. He is returning to totally destroy every evil alliance, rebellion, wickedness, and all that have set themselves against God, His truth, and His people.
There are also no questions as to His identity. But, in the event someone is in doubt, written on His robe and on His thigh is one of His titles: King of kings and Lord of lords.
Break forth in praise! One day, Jesus Christ will avenge His people! One day, Jesus Christ will appear in person to rescue, to rule, and to reign on this earth! One day, oh, glorious day! Jesus Christ will come, just as He said He would!

About this Plan

The book of Revelation was originally written to give hope to the early church when Christians were being persecuted. It was written to a generation of Christians yet to come who will experience what Jesus described as “great distress” (Matthew 24:21). As Christians we are called to lift up our heads and open our eyes to the Person of Jesus Christ … and we will find that the vision is glorious! Dedicated to the hopeless.
