Called to Boldness
Have you ever hesitated to speak up, take action, or make a decision because it felt risky? Boldness can seem like a personality trait, something reserved for the daring or outspoken. But God’s call to bold living is for everyone. It isn’t about being naturally fearless; it’s about having faith in Him, even when we feel afraid.
In Joshua 1:9 (NIV), God commands Joshua to “be strong and courageous”. This wasn’t just a pep talk; it was a direct instruction. Why? Because Joshua was stepping into a daunting role to lead the Israelites into the Promised Land. He wasn’t told to be bold because he was capable, but because God was with him.
God calls us to live boldly, not recklessly, but with a kingdom vision. Bold living means aligning our lives with His purpose – loving Him, serving others, and sharing the gospel. It’s not about self-confidence but God-confidence. The early church prayed for boldness to preach the gospel (Acts 4:29). They didn’t shrink back in fear because they understood that boldness is rooted in God’s presence, promises, and power.
Where is fear holding you back? What does bold living look like for you?
Ask God to help you step out in faith today, whether it’s in a conversation, an act of service, or simply trusting Him with your next step.
