RETURN to ME: Reading With the People of God #16ნიმუში

Wholehearted Response
Today’s readings offer a surprising glimpse of what happens when people truly listen to God—and when they don’t.
In Jonah 3, the prophet finally delivers God’s message to Nineveh, and something remarkable happens: the people actually repent. From the king to the commoner, they humble themselves and turn from evil. It's one of the most dramatic responses to God’s word in all of Scripture. And it reminds us that God delights to show mercy when we return to Him.
In Mark 12, religious leaders question Jesus—not with sincere hearts, but with an agenda. Still, Jesus responds with wisdom and clarity, pointing to the greatest commandment:
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength... and love your neighbor as yourself” (Mark 12:30–31 ESV).
Both stories confront us with the same question: How will you respond to God today?
Not with half-hearted religion or surface obedience—but with repentance, humility, and love that flows from the heart.
Return to Him—not just with your words, but with your whole life.
