Kids: Dare to Live Generously! By Wycliffe Bible Translatorsნიმუში

Be Generous With Your Time
What are your favorite ways to spend your time? How you spend it is important because time is special. No one can make more of it. In fact, everyone only gets 24 hours each day — no more, no less — and we have to spend many of those hours sleeping and doing work like school lessons and chores.
Sometimes it might feel like you never have enough time to do the things you love, like playing games and hanging out with friends and going on adventures. Or maybe you feel like you hardly ever get to choose for yourself what to do with your time, and it just gets taken away from you.
Matias is a boy who lives in Peru (that’s a country in South America). Sometimes he travels to the large capital city named Lima. It’s really easy to get caught in traffic jams — huge ones! — because lots and lots of people live and drive there. Matias has spent many hours just sitting among all those cars and trucks and taxis and buses, moving so slowly (or not at all!) with horns blaring and people glaring. It’s such a big waste of time.
Hopefully you don’t get stuck in too many traffic jams, because time is a treasure and a blessing — and you have to do your best to use it well so you don’t just lose it or waste it. Everyone should want to be generous in spending time with and for others too. One of the most important ways you can spend time is with people, to show them love. It’s great to tell people you love them, but spending time with them is how you can really show them that your love for them is real and true.
You can help change lives both now and forever that way! These two things last for eternity: God’s Word and people. Did you know that? It’s true! So any time you spend caring about God’s Word and people matters a whole lot! How can you learn more about the Bible? Maybe you could read it with your family or memorize verses and put them on your wall. That way, you can always be reminded of what God’s Word says. God also says that when you care about people, it makes Him happy — like when you hold the door open for someone, share your toys with a friend or speak up if a classmate is being treated unfairly.
When you care about God’s Word and people, it fills God with joy and should fill you with joy too!
Prayer Point:
Lord, You are so good and so cool! Thank You for the time that You give me. Remind me how special it is, and help me to use it well to give honor and praise to You. Show me how to spend time in ways to spread Your Word and Your love to others. Help me to be brave and full of action and energy to do the good things You want me to do. Teach me what it really means to be generous with my time. It is a gift from You, and I want to share that gift with others. Amen.
