The Art of Being Stillნიმუში

And Know
There are some days when I walk through life, and although the sun is shining all around me, within me, everything is cloudy.
On those days,
- I'm questioning everything about my life,
- I'm questioning everything about my calling,
- I'm questioning everything about the people around me, and
- I'm questioning everything that I know to be true about God.
Have you ever experienced days like this in your life? On those days, I often hear God's whisper, "Be still and know." It is a reminder to trust Him with my life, a whisper of love and encouragement, and a reminder that this is a place of surrender to the unknown.
It is a petition to me not to try to figure life out, but instead to continue following Him in obedience.
I can imagine God walking alongside me on these days. His eyes seeing far beyond what my eyes can see.
I'm watching His gaze as He looks, as though He's looking at me, but far beyond my current years. I can feel the excitement about all that He has planned for my future. I can also feel His longing for me to trust Him with what I cannot yet see. He's wishing I would set my eyes upon where He was looking.
I imagine Him doing the same for you as well.
Practice:
- Set aside five minutes to meditate on the word "Know".
- Google the definition of this word.
- Be still, breathe, and rest.
- Journal about what God has revealed today.
