Love God Greatly - 5 Promises of God to Cling to When Your World Feels Shaky

DAY 4 OF 5

Day 4: God Is Your Refuge

Read: Psalm 46:1–11

SOAP Verse:“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” —Psalm 46:1 (NET)

Where do you run when life feels heavy and hard?

Maybe it’s to a friend, a distraction, or even just a quiet corner where you can catch your breath for a moment. When the storms rage, and our hearts ache, we all long for a place where we can feel safe… a place where we can be held and known.

Psalm 46 gently reminds us that we already have that place.

God Himself is our refuge.

Not a temporary shelter that shifts with the winds—but a steady, unshakable place of strength and protection.

He is our refuge.

He is our strength.

He is our ever-present help, no matter what storms are raging around us.

And He isn’t distant or hard to find. He is with you—right here, right now. You don’t have to hold yourself together. You don’t have to figure it all out. God simply invites you to come. To run to Him and find rest. To lean into His arms and remember that you are safe.

So take a deep breath, sweet friend.

You don’t have to carry it all.

You don’t have to be strong enough on your own.

Run to Him today—arms open, heart open—and let Him be the safe place your soul longs for.

He is your refuge. He is your strength. And you are forever held in His love.

Prayer:

God, thank You for being my refuge, my strength, and my safe place. When fear rushes in, and the weight feels too much to bear, draw me close to You. Teach me to run to You first, to rest in Your arms, and to trust that I am never alone. Thank You for holding me today and always. Amen.
