Empty Cisternsნიმუში

Empty Cisterns Are Places of Juxtaposition
At the place of juxtaposition, the events of your life will appear opposite to every promise you once held. Everything will look contrary to the dream or vision deposited within you. If you ask me, I’ll say without hesitation that it is one of the most devastating places to be. It is a place of uncertainty, a place of being at the mercy of others, a place of pain, breaking, humility, submission, and weakness.
Joseph, a young man who had dreamt that he would rule and reign – a young man of promise – had now found himself in a position of utmost submission. He was at the mercy of the very men who would bow before him. His robe, which prophesied of an end to their power and stature, had been stripped off him, and he was thrown into an empty cistern.
Many times in our journey, we arrive at places that look nothing like what we dreamed of. These places stand in stark contrast to our destination. God gave us dreams of wealth, and yet we see poverty. God gave us dreams of professional success, yet we are unemployed or struggling in dead-end jobs. God gave us dreams of a happy, thriving, prosperous family, yet we see a troublesome spouse. But be not dismayed. Your low place is but a juxtaposition of your destination. You are merely at a step in your journey to a purpose fulfilled. An impending season will bring you to the place that God has destined for you.
