God’s Strengthening Word: Being Renewed by the Holy Spiritნიმუში

Introduction
1 Corinthians 12:1–11: In today’s reading, the apostle Paul writes to the Corinthians about spiritual gifts. He describes how God’s one Spirit gives God’s people different gifts, including wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing power, and more.
Today’s Key Verse: 1 Corinthians 12:7
The Spirit’s presence is shown in some way in each person for the good of all.
Reflect
We can think of two general types of spiritual gifts—something that God gives for the benefit of the whole community, and some special ability given to an individual to carry out a job or meet a need in the life of the church. What spiritual gifts does Paul list in this passage? What is the purpose of these gifts? Which of these gifts do you have? Which of these gifts do you see in others? Which of these gifts do you wish to cultivate?
Pray
Loving God, you are generous and kind in bestowing the gift of your Holy Spirit on all who follow you. Teach me to manifest the presence of your Sprit within me in ways that reflect your love and care. Amen.
Tomorrow’s Reading
