Attributes of God on F.I.R.E.ნიმუში

Attribute #1 - Holiness
Be holy, for I am holy (1 Peter 1:16).
The Hebrew term for “holiness” means the realm of the sacred being distinct from the common. In this lesson, we will focus on God’s majestic holiness which is His supreme uniqueness and perfect purity, setting Him apart from all creation. His majestic holiness communicates that He is uniquely holy—absolutely holy.
In Isaiah 6, the prophet envisions God “high and lifted up,” with seraphim crying out, “Holy, holy, holy.” This triple declaration underscores God’s complete holiness, evoking awe-inspiring worship. Isaiah’s vision not only brings him in close proximity with God’s majestic holiness, but also to know His magnificent mercy. While thinking that he will immediately die for seeing the glorious Lord, God dispatches an angel who cleanses the spokesperson from his sin.
Encounters with God’s holiness reveal human unworthiness. Isaiah laments his sinfulness but is cleansed and empowered for service. Likewise, Job, to whom the Lord appeared in a whirlwind, humbly repents after witnessing God’s grandeur (Job 42:5-6). Worship is the natural response to God’s majesty, as depicted in Revelation 4:8, where heavenly beings continuously praise both the Father and the Son, acknowledging their worthiness and eternal glory. Daily worshiping the majestically holy Lord should be our passion; we will continue to do so throughout eternity.
Employment Point: Worship God who is majestically holy.
