The Bible for Young Explorers: Lukeნიმუში

- Dr. Luke researched the facts and wrote a biography of Jesus (c. ad 70).
- He introduced Jesus to non-Jewish people across the Roman Empire.
- Luke’s Gospel focuses on Jesus’ compassion for the poor and marginalised.
Luke was a medical doctor who interviewed eyewitnesses to find out the facts. He then wrote a two-volume work: Luke’s Gospel (the story of Jesus: ad 0–30) and the Book of Acts (the story of the early church: ad 30–60). Luke’s Gospel makes sense to people who don’t know the Old Testament very well. It includes some of the greatest stories ever told – the parable of the good Samaritan and the prodigal son. In Luke’s Gospel, Jesus spent time with unpopular people – prostitutes, tax collectors, lepers – and valued those that others overlooked – especially women and children. Jesus’ radical love got him in trouble with the religious leaders. They plotted to kill him. But love always wins in the end!
