Journey With Jesus 365ნიმუში

"And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection." (Luke 8:14)
In this parable, Jesus describes different kinds of soil which represents different conditions of people’s hearts. One type of ground that Jesus warns against in verse 14 is the thorny ground. This warning is relevant for us today because life is full of distractions, responsibilities, and temptations that can pull our focus away from Jesus. When we let the cares of this world take up too much space in our hearts, we struggle to grow spiritually. Jesus reminds us that a life preoccupied with worldly things will hinder our faith from growing.
Is there anything in your life that might be “choking” your relationship with God? Maybe it’s worries about finances, or the pursuit of success, or a habit that’s taking your time and energy. Jesus calls us to look at our hearts and remove these thorns so that we can grow in our walks with Him.
What steps can you take today to prioritize your spiritual growth? Ask God to help you clear away any “thorns” that keep you from bearing fruit for His kingdom.
