How to Lead People Who Are Not Like Youნიმუში

Learning is not just about gaining knowledge—it’s about transformation. When we choose to learn from others, especially those who are different from us, we’re making a conscious decision to grow. Proverbs 1:5 says, “Let the wise listen and add to their learning.” Wisdom isn’t a state of being; it’s a journey. And sometimes, the greatest lessons come from the most unlikely sources.
In John 4, Jesus modeled this beautifully in His interactions with the Samaritan woman at the well. Despite cultural and social boundaries, He engaged her, listened, and offered her life-changing truths. Through that encounter, not only did the woman’s life change, but Jesus’s disciples also learned a profound lesson about the expansiveness of God’s love and grace.
As leaders, we should always be looking for opportunities to learn from those around us. Learning requires humility and the courage to admit that we don’t have all the answers. What can you learn from those you lead or work with? What new perspectives can help you grow as a person and a leader? Today, ask God to open your heart and mind to learn something new from someone different from you.
Let's Pray: Lord, give me the humility to learn from those around me. Help me see the value in every perspective and use that knowledge to lead in a way that glorifies You. May my heart be open to Your guidance, and may I continually seek to grow in wisdom.
