What If...ნიმუში

Reading the Bible can feel intimidating sometimes. But one simple way of studying Scripture is called S.O.A.P. It stands for "Scripture," "Observation," "Application," and "Prayer." We'll show you how—it's easy!
S: Scripture
If you haven't already, read today's passage of Scripture. Then summarize it in your own words.
O: Observation
Read Matthew 21:12–17 again.
- How did Jesus respond to what was happening in the temple?
- What did he point people's attention to instead?
- What group of people did Jesus focus on?
A: Application
- Where do you see yourself in this story? Do you act as though all are welcome to worship Jesus? Or do you question who can approach Jesus?
- What things have you noticed that hold people back from worshiping Jesus? What's something you can do to break down these barriers?
- Who's someone you can invite to join you in moving closer to Jesus?
P: Prayer
Spend some time in prayer about the barriers you see keeping others from approaching Jesus. Ask God to show you the ones you've put up or reinforced. Consider who you can invite to worship Jesus with you. Then say thank you that Jesus welcomes us to draw near to him regardless of our circumstances.

About this Plan

Curiosity inspires artists to look at what is in front of them and imagine something entirely different. God asks us to do something similar—to wonder what it might look like for things to be different. In this 4-week devotional series from Grow Curriculum, we'll chase our curiosity and discover what it can look like to care for the people around us.
