How to Live Through a Bad Dayნიმუში

How to Know Who You Belong To
Years ago, my son accidentally backed into a friend’s car when he began driving. Instead of claiming the incident on insurance, I paid for the damages outright… in other words, I atoned for my son’s mistake.
What is atonement?
Atonement is payment for damages done. It’s making things right and whole. In 1 John 2:2, we read Jesus is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.
How exactly does this happen? Well, 2 Corinthians 5:21 says, For God took the sinless Christ and poured into Him our sins. Then, in exchange, he poured God’s goodness into us!
Friend, this is the divine exchange. You see, for you and me to go to Heaven, it costs God a lot—as our sin cannot go to Heaven with us. The Apostle Paul says in the book of Romans that the gift of God is eternal life, and while this gift is free to us, it’s not cheap…
Forgiveness of sin and the healing of our souls is expensive. But Somebody paid your dues—and His name is Jesus Christ. Remember that and hold onto the truth that you belong to Jesus Christ. It is Him who keeps you as you go through your bad days.
As you engage with God’s Word:
● What is God saying to you?
● What does it mean to you?
● What action step do you need to take?
After you reflect on these questions, bring everything to God in prayer.
