Jesus Christ alone has the power and authority to judge with ultimate righteousness. He is the only One who took on Himself the full wrath of God in the ultimate consequence of sin. He can Judge because He bore the totality of God’s judgement on our behalf. He is the Lamb who was slain and the only one worthy of unlimited power and authority.

We don’t get judged on any other basis but on the basis of our acceptance or rejection of Jesus Christ. God’s full opinion and commandments are communicated in Him and nothing or no one else. The question we need to ask ourselves is: have we accepted God’s remedy for sin and the resulting death and destruction in His Son? Do we still try some other way through religiosity and self-effort?

Four times, the seven seals, seven trumpets, seven scales, and seven horses, Israel was judged because of rejecting Christ. Christ saw the value in us and took the full wrath of God on Himself on our behalf. If you weren’t valuable, Christ wouldn’t have died for you on the cross.
