Peter’s Miracles
As Peter travels preaching the gospel, people are healed, and a woman is raised from the dead. Peter’s obedience to do God’s will, his willingness to risk himself in showing up for seemingly impossible tasks and his love for the people he is with continues to draw people to God and the Church.
Read: Acts 9:32-42(NLT)
Explore the Theme: While in Lydda, Peter finds Aeneas, a man paralyzed for almost a decade and heals him. After word spreads, he is brought to Dorcas, a woman being prepared for her funeral. He calls upon the name of Jesus to restore what has been lost in both situations. How does he see beyond an impossible task, and instead see something that will bring glory to God?
Ask God: What experiences have you had that you feel are beyond repair? Where might God be leading you to show his power or love in seemingly impossible situations? Ask God how he might view those same events. What does this lead you to understand about his power?
Live it Out: We know there is no concrete timeline for healing and it is never too late for Jesus to restore what’s been lost. Take inventory of your life, identifying experiences that have left you feeling broken and invite him into those places. Ask God to redeem those situations, knowing he is powerful and able.
