Commended for Their Faith

How do you want to be remembered? Which of your accomplishments causes others to want to emulate you? All of the people listed in the “Hall of Faith” in Hebrews 11 were commended for their faith. Their faith was revealed by their response to times of great difficulty. Men and women of faith do not live trouble-free lives; they live by faith in the midst of troubling times and circumstances. Where is God calling you to live by faith today? How will your life of faith influence others to live by faith?

These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised.—Hebrews 11:39

Prayer: God, I want my response to difficulties to reflect my faith in You. Let my life be a testimony to Your faithfulness, an encouragement to others to trust You, and an example for others to follow. I want to be remembered as someone who lived by faith. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
