Living the Jesus Wayნიმუში

Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
Living the Jesus way is not just an inner work of transformation, it’s an external demonstration.
How do people know you are a disciple? Because you love like Christ did.
It’s that simple.
How did He love?
When He was hanging on the cross, watching the soldiers steal and sell His garments and mock Him, He asked His Father to forgive them.
His love is unconditional, so our love must be if we are to follow His example.
His love was sacrificial.
His love was humble. When He washed the feet of His disciples it wasn’t just a teaching moment but an act of love towards them.
His love was abundant.
Our love has to be these things if we want to be disciples and live the Jesus way because it isn’t optional, it’s required, and it’s a commandment.
However, people don’t always make it easy to love them, do they? But you can make your love easy towards them.
One simple way to measure this is to ask yourself after you have met with someone, “Are they leaving my presence knowing that I love them?”
People may not have always understood what Jesus was saying to them. They certainly didn’t always make it easy for Him. But when He left their presence, they felt loved by Him.
I am sure people have hurt you in the past or are doing so right now in the present.
I am sure you have been betrayed before, and I am sure you have experienced rejection in some form.
Let’s love like Christ. His example is exceptional!
As you complete today’s readings, take the time to reflect on what may need to change as you put into practice loving people the Jesus way.
