God Always Answers

When we pray, God always answers. Sometimes He says "Yes," sometimes "No," sometimes "Wait." Let us never talk of unanswered prayers. Our Father does answer us when we, His loving children, speak to Him.

I think it must sound very strange to Him when we let ourselves use such untrue, ungrateful words. Isn’t "No" an answer? Isn’t "Wait" an answer? Can’t we trust our Father if He says "No" or "Wait"?

Our Lord Jesus said, "I knew that Thou hearest Me always." John, who heard Him say that, wrote in his first letter, "And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He heareth us" (1 John 5:14). Let us pray, then, in the confidence that He does truly hear and truly answer—always.
