Managing stress and worry can feel like you're juggling bowling pins. As long as you've only got two or three, you're doing okay. You can manage this! But then you've got four or five bowling pins you've got to keep spinning, and things get a little more challenging. By the time you get to six or seven, well . . . forget about it.
We all have our limits. There is really only so much stress that one person can handle at a time! And when you reach your maximum capacity for stress, you're like a cardboard box with too much stuff in it. You're going to feel like falling apart.
When this happens, the first thing to remember is not to be too hard on yourself. Life isn't supposed to be constantly stressful, and you're not bad or weak for getting too stressed out. We all need a break sometimes. We all need help.
What's even more important to remember is that God offers us a safe place when we're feeling stressed and worried. We might feel like we're running out of hope for whatever challenges we're facing, but God doesn't have any limits on hope. When we're feeling like we're all out of energy, God's got us.
The writers of the Psalms talk about "looking to God" a lot. Basically, that means they've decided to stop looking to themselves to solve all their problems and have started looking to the one who can guide them in the right direction.

About this Plan

We'll look at four major stressors we all deal with and see how God's words can give us comfort, guidance, and help with each of them. We'll talk about what Jesus offers you when you're not okay, what God wants you to know when people reject you, what to do when it's not easy to do what's right, and when we feel worried, we'll see what God has to say.
