TheLionWithin.Us: How to Tune Your Bodyნიმუში

Move
We get one body, and many treat it like a cheap motel instead of a holy temple.
God’s Word tells us in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 that God’s church, which includes believers’ physical bodies, is the temple of the Holy Spirit designed to glorify Him.
An excellent way take on that responsibility is to simply get moving. This does not mean that you need to be a star athlete or an incredible physical specimen. It does mean that you need to be constantly working on building endurance in the temple that God has given you.
For those that struggle with this concept, start small. Walking 30 minutes could be a great way to get moving. As that gets easier, you can then add more challenges to your routine.
For those that already engage in daily exercise, consider adding variation. We know that only reading the same verse each day won’t increase your knowledge of the Word. Similarly, your body needs variety in the physical challenges you present.
Growing in physical strength is God’s desire for us and creating the habit of regular exercise will also build mental fortitude, which can help increase physical stamina.
Question to Consider
- When was the last time you broke a sweat?
- When you look in the mirror, do you see a holy temple or a sleazy motel?
- What actions will you commit to today to be the leader God intends you to be?
