The 3 Types of Tithing, and the 2 You Should Avoidნიმუში

Day 1 - Covenant Tithing: An Obligation of the Israelites
I first need to start by acknowledging that this insight came from Pastor Dean Shriver and some of his writings. Even though this is a topic I have studied for many years personally, ever since I read his writings, I have never thought about tithing the same way.
I hope you experience the same thing through this plan.
With that out of the way let’s get to the first type of tithing.
The first form of tithing we are going to discuss is “covenant” tithing. This type of tithing was specific to Israel as the covenant people of God and was a part of the Mosaic Law. And under this covenant, God promised to materially bless Israel for obedience and to judge them by stripping away their prosperity for disobedience.
But here’s the thing. Covenant tithing has no direct relevance to New Testament believers who now live under a new covenant established by Jesus Christ. The indwelling Holy Spirit governs the lives of believers, and the written code no longer dictates their actions.
And therefore this is a type of tithing that I believe we (as new covenant believers) should NOT be practicing.
About this Plan

Did you know there are actually 3 distinct approaches to tithing in the Bible. And as new covenant believers, according to the Bible I believe we should be avoiding two of them. In this short plan we explore these 3 different types of tithing and how we as Christians should be giving and tithing in the most God-honoring way.
