Have you ever watched a scene from a movie and wondered who brought all of the presents perfectly wrapped beneath the tree? The camera pans through the family room to a perfectly decorated Christmas tree, surrounded by a mountain of gifts. But who actually purchases so many gifts that you can't even walk into the room?

Better yet, have you seen the TikTok of the little kids who decided to wake up super early on Christmas morning to open presents, but forget to wake up their parents? The mom walks out — of course, recording the entire event — and is completely shocked by all of the unwrapped presents on the floor.

Most of us haven't had a Christmas experience where there were more presents than we could count. More than likely, there's been a common theme: We were happy and excited to see what we would receive on Christmas morning. We went to bed with child-like excitement, wondering how many items were purchased from our Christmas list, tearing into as many as we could at a record-setting pace.

Then, something happens. Years go by, and our perspective begins to shift. Yes, there are still items on our Christmas wish list, but the list gets shorter, and more practical. And that's not the only change taking place behind the scenes.

Over time, we shift our focus to how we can make someone else's Christmas that much more special. The goal becomes all about what steps we can take to make their life that much better.
