Matt references Matthew 16:24-25:

“Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it." (NIV)

When most of us think of the word passion, we think of love, desire and romance. The true meaning of passion however is much different.

The true meaning of passion is “to suffer”... Ouch!

Kevin Hall writes:

“At its essence, passion is sacred suffering. It’s one thing to suffer and be a victim; it’s an entirely different thing to be willing to suffer for a cause and become a victor.”
