The New Godly Line
God gave Seth to Eve as a replacement for Abel. In Unlocking the Bible, David Pawson tells us that this third brother, Seth, reestablished a line of descendants from Adam and Eve, and this "new godly line" from Seth began, once again, the practice of calling on the name of the Lord.
Redemption is always on God’s heart. Seth’s birth continued God’s plan to redeem humanity despite human sin. Abel had died, and Cain practiced wickedness and was cursed, yet God gave humanity another chance to start again.
The period between the end of one thing and the beginning of another is often full of uncertainty, but it can also be a great time of growth and trust—a time when God invites us not toward a solution but toward himself.
Question: What has died in your life that God wants to redeem?
Prayer: Ask God for endurance as you pursue him amid the unknown.
