Preparing for the Power of Pentecostნიმუში

Can you imagine the hurt and heartache the Apostles felt at the betrayal of Judas? They walked together, worked alongside each other, and even performed miracles together. The pain and hurt must have been immense. Still, instead of hiding from that pain, Peter stood and addressed it. In addressing failure in Judas’s leadership, Peter practiced three lessons for us.
First, Peter pointed out that this failure wasn’t news to God. In the midst of leadership failure, we can often feel surprised, overwhelmed, or bewildered. Christian leaders remember and remind others that God is never surprised. Since our confidence is in Him more than in the leader who failed, we can remain steadfast in our hope. Second, Peter made sure that everyone understood what took place (16b - 17). In moments of leadership failure, rumors abound. Christian leaders seeking healing must act wisely to provide clarity surrounding the failure. Finally, Peter pointed to scripture and the need for ongoing leadership. As Christian leaders, we understand a leadership failure doesn’t mean the mission and vision are over.
You must lead to healing before you, and your team will experience power like Pentecost.
Action Steps:
Honestly, reflect on your leadership and the leadership experience of your team. Are their leadership failures for which you need to repent? Has your team been wounded by another leader? Prayerfully consider how you can lead yourself and your team toward healing
