Just Don't Give Up! - Part 5: My Battle, His Battleნიმუში

His Wings
He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection. – Psalm 91:4
I love Psalm 91. My wife read it to me every night when I was in the hospital. It was a constant reminder that My Most High has a shelter I could both dwell and rest in. My refuge and my fortress, He will save me from my disease. Oh yes, He will.
I could dwell in my fear, but I refused to. I could rest solely on medics, but I decided not to. I told myself to trust Him. I reminded myself to dwell in the shelter of the Almighty. When fear tried to control me, I asked my wife to reread the verses for me, and I reaffirmed His identity in my heart: “God is my refuge and my fortress. In Him, I trust.”
Arrow and plague. Terror and pestilence. All these uninvited guests will try to knock on our door at a certain point in our lives. We can dwell in our own shelter and live in fear. Or we can choose the refuge that God provides. A shelter where no power can break its door. A place where we can have a complete rest and find perfect peace.
Is it difficult for you to sleep at night? Are you afraid that the terror you are facing will harm you? My friend, if that is you, God is offering you His shelter. It’s free. It’s available. Will you want to enter?
God will rescue you. God will answer your prayers. God will deliver you. God will honor you. Your armor and protection are His own faithful promises: not just promises, not based on our faithfulness- but rather, the faithful promises of the Most- High. Dwell in His shelter. Rest well tonight and let His peace overcome your worry. God is with us.
Rest, O my soul. Rest under His wings.
