Daily Bible Reading – March 2023, "God’s Saving Word: Prayer"ნიმუში

March 5
Introduction
Today’s reading is a plea for God’s intervention. It is attributed to David and relates to a time when he was being pursued by King Saul (see 1 Samuel 23).
Scripture Reading
Psalm 54
Today’s Key Verse: Psalm 54:4
God is my helper. The Lord is my defender.
Reflect
What does the psalm writer ask of God? As described in verse 3, what is the writer’s situation? What verses speak of the writer’s trust in God? What does the writer promise (verse 6)? What promise will you make to God today?
Pray
I give you thanks, O God because you are good. You are my helper and defender; you hear me when I call out to you in prayer. Daily will I praise you, trusting in the safety of your love and care. Amen.
Tomorrow’s Reading
Psalm 55: The prayer of someone betrayed by a friend.
