Who Is Jesus?
Most every reputable scholar agrees Jesus Christ was a real person Who lived on the earth roughly 2,000 years ago. The Jesus of the Gospels is the Jesus of real history. This means we all have to answer this question: “Who was He?”
Was He a great teacher and an all-around nice guy? Was He a man with mysterious powers to raise the dead, open blind eyes, and heal the sick? Or was He even more? Was He the Son of God Who gave His perfect life to atone for our sins… The One Who rose from the grave on the third day… and Who ascended into heaven to be seated at God’s right hand?
Who do you say He is? Not your friends, family, or someone online—I’m asking you! This is the most important question you’ll ever be asked—because all of eternity hangs upon your answer.
In the first century, everyone seemed to have an opinion about Jesus. Some said He was one of the Old Testament prophets. Others said He was a blasphemer. But when He asked the disciples, Peter gave a different answer in Matthew 16:16: “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
Who do you say Jesus is?
As you engage with God’s Word:
● What is God saying to me?
● What does it mean to me?
● How can I apply what God is teaching me?
● How can I be specific in prayer today?
