Becoming Like a Childნიმუში

Every child of God is an heir
“The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with Him in order that we may also be glorified with Him.” (Romans 8:16-17)
It is a great privilege to be a child of God. We will only experience its fullness in the hereafter, when we have died or when the Lord Jesus has returned to earth during our lifetime. Then the full bliss of eternal life with God awaits us. The Bible uses the word “inheritance” here, a precious possession that the Lord God has acquired for us. If we are Christ's, we are “heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ” (Romans 8:17). That's amazing!
Peter says that this inheritance is kept imperishable, undefiled and unfading in the heaven for believers (1 Peter 1:4). Thus, it will never lose its value and will never be taken away from us. What a comfort that is for Christians who experience constant opposition here on earth and who may even lose everything because they believe in Jesus Christ. Their greatest treasure is safe in heaven. No one can take that away or damage it. The fact that they are suffering with Jesus now even confirms them in the hope that they will also share in His glory.
Are you looking forward to the moment when you will receive your inheritance?
