1 Johnნიმუში

When reading these verses in 1 John, I’m reminded of Mark 12:30-31. The verses in Mark are where we get the phrase “Love God and Love People,” which are the two most important commandments Jesus gives us in the gospels. The truth is, loving someone we can’t see, and loving people we encounter can be difficult at times. The good news is that as a believer in Jesus, his nature is part of who we are, and he gives us examples of how to love well throughout the Bible.
Is loving others something that can be challenging at times for you? One discipline we can put into practice is to pray and ask God for eyes to see others as he sees them. With eyes of grace, truth, and love.
Be encouraged that the beauty of following Jesus and consuming His Word consistently is that we become more and more like him over time.
Prayer Points
- Pray that God will reveal anything hindering you from loving him or others.
- Pray that God gives you eyes to see others as he sees them.
