2 Corinthiansნიმუში

- In our passage for this week, the theme is generosity. The early churches would often help to support one another through difficulties by sending financial aid to them through Paul and his coworkers. Paul is writing this chapter to prepare the church in Corinth to send a gift to the churches in Macedonia.
This seems to be the progression as the church spreads from meeting in homes around Jerusalem and sharing everything, to being spread around the Mediterranean. Generosity remained a foundational principle of the Christian life, even if it looked different over time and amongst different people groups.
Our takeaway from this is that generosity might look different for all of us, as Paul says in verse 7, we should all give as the Holy Spirit leads us. The key thing is that we are giving, and giving with joy.

About this Plan

We are going through the book of 2 Corinthians together! We will be reading one chapter every week as we usually do, but this time we have also included devotions and other passages to read on certain days. We hope you will follow along with us as we deep dive into Paul's second letter to the church in Corinth and seek to see what we can learn from it today as we seek to follow Jesus together.
