The People of God: The Story of the Churchნიმუში

As the church, our bodies are now the Temple of the Holy Spirit. As we receive the body and blood of Jesus in Communion, we are joined together to become the body of Christ on earth. Paul expands on this idea by using the analogy of a body to describe the diversity of the church.
In both of the passages for today, Paul talks about different ‘gifts’ that Jesus gives to his church. You, reading this today, have the opportunity to be part of this body and bring the gift that Jesus has given you! As we receive Communion each week together, we are transformed more and more to become like Jesus and join more closely with one another.

About this Plan

What is the story of the church? This plan is a month-long journey through the Bible, looking at how God uses people, situations, and symbols to bring about communion between God and humanity once again. It follows the story of Israel and then the early church, highlighting the church's hope for resurrection and new creation and our role as agents of that new creation.
