My Jesus by Anne Wilsonნიმუში

God is real, and God is good. When I experienced the worst day of my life, I clung to these foundational truths. From the beginning, Satan tried to convince Eve that God was not good, and he still tries to slip us the same lie in our times of loss. When our hearts are ripped open in pain, the Enemy of our souls shoots his fiery arrows and tries to convince us that God does not have our best interests at heart and that He’s not good. It can be easy to believe these lies, not only because we are vulnerable but also because our experiences seem to agree.
The reality that God draws near to our shattered hearts is more real than the Enemy’s whispered lies. In His goodness, He enters our pain. I’ve heard it said, “What if the point of Job’s story wasn’t why God allows suffering, but how God is present in our suffering?” At the worst moment of my life, God spoke to me and asked me to trust Him; He promised to help me through it. He did not turn His back on me. He came in even closer. In the days that followed, He did the same for each member of my family. We can find safety and healing by trusting in God’s character and His Word. No wonder the Enemy tries so hard to keep us from it.
Prayer
Lord, I want to trust You at all times. Please help me see You at work in my suffering and walk with me when I struggle. Amen.
