OVERCOMING SPIRITUAL APATHY

“Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” PSALM 51:10

RECITE GOD’S GOODNESS

Mighty God, Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and Your dominion endures throughout all generations. You are God, and I am not, so You deserve all honor and praise.

EXPRESS YOUR NEEDINESS

O God, my heart feels cold and indifferent toward You. Change my heart! Cause me to turn away from distractions that have dulled my spiritual senses. Help me seek You with all of my heart. Stir my affections and my devotion for You, and grant me a hunger and thirst for righteousness that I may drink from Your river of delights. Thrill me, God, with Your presence, that I would lose my appetite for anything but You.

SEEK HIS STILLNESS

Be still before God, deeply breathing as you become aware of His loving presence. What does He long to say to you?

TRUST HIS FAITHFULNESS

Your love, O Lord, reaches to the heavens. You are trustworthy in all Your promises and loving to all You have made. I trust You to cause my heart to long for You. I believe that You will revive me again so that I may celebrate Your abundant goodness and joyfully sing of Your righteousness.
