Joy is a Choice - Proverbs 10
Joy is a fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:23), which should be evident in our lives as we follow the Lord. The truth is that joy is a choice. The Bible says, “This is the day the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it” (Psalm 118:24). That needs to be our commitment. We will rejoice. I will rejoice. I choose to walk in joy. Why? Because the joy of the Lord is our strength (Nehemiah 8:10). Sometimes, we can feel weak or depleted because we’re not choosing to find our joy in the Lord. At one of his lowest moments, David encouraged himself in the Lord (1 Samuel 30:6). He found strength in God – not because the situation had changed, but because he had a deep sense that he could trust God and ultimately all would be well.
Be at peace and find joy in the Lord. Sometimes we’re just too uptight. We need not take ourselves and our problems seriously. Trust in God. He’s got you! Choose joy and enjoy the life that God has given you.
“Father, today I choose joy! This is the day You have made, and I WILL rejoice and be glad. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
