Advent in Israel: The Places of Israel & the Story of Jesusნიმუში

Day 5 - Via Dolorosa
Jesus was betrayed by a man who had followed Him for years. Then He was arrested, beaten, falsely accused, and brought to trial before Pilate. Pilate could find no guilt in Him, but for the sake of His own rule and peace, he handed Him over to be crucified. Jesus was flogged; a crown of thorns shoved on His head, and a cross tied to His back, He began His slow walk through the streets of Jerusalem to Golgotha via Dolorosa, the way of suffering, the winding path that tradition says Jesus stumbled over, crowded and filled with people who would have mocked Him and looked at with disdain. This Son of God endured all of this without a word of complaint. His path was laid before He was born, and He endured the suffering as Isaiah would prophecy.
This season has been filled with suffering for many. How does the suffering of Jesus teach us about how to endure suffering?
About this Plan

As we enter the Christmas season, we are all eager to celebrate the birth of Jesus, the point in history where God descended into humanity to bring life to a broken world. Each day leading up to Christmas, we will provide an overview of the biblical significance of a location in Israel, along with a devotional prompt that will connect that location with the life of Jesus in Scripture.
