Advent in Israel: The Places of Israel & the Story of Jesusნიმუში

Day 13 - Mt. of Beatitudes
“Now when Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down.” (Mathew 5:1)
A large part of Jesus’s ministry was preaching to crowds that followed Him. In the Galilee region we know that He attracted large crowds. It was one of these movements early in His ministry that led Him to preach one of the most famous sermons in history, the Sermon on the Mount.
He saw the people and He taught them. He showed them a new way, a different way—one that required not the letter of the law as Moses taught but required a repentant heart, a posture of humility, and deep faith. He turned upside down their notion of what the kingdom of God looked like, and the world was never the same.
Jesus taught the people a new way. How should this teaching change the way that we live our daily lives?

About this Plan

As we enter the Christmas season, we are all eager to celebrate the birth of Jesus, the point in history where God descended into humanity to bring life to a broken world. Each day leading up to Christmas, we will provide an overview of the biblical significance of a location in Israel, along with a devotional prompt that will connect that location with the life of Jesus in Scripture.
