A Day With Him

A single day in your courts is better than a thousand anywhere else. I would rather be a gatekeeper in the house of my God than live the good life in the homes of the wicked. -Psalm 84:10 (NLT)

When dealing with or working in a hostile environment, you may have this feeling, "I'd rather be anywhere but here." Because we always believe that life would be so much easier if we could only escape our present place of reality.

What happens when there’s no escape? You’re not always able to run from the hostility, but you can activate God’s presence in the midst of it.

The second you call God's name, He shows up with everything you need for that moment. First, however, you have to have a perspective that convinces you that a day with Him does make a difference. Then, staying focused on the proper perspective, no matter what your environment produces, will allow you to have that "single day in His courts" experience that will catapult you to new heights. 

No matter where you are, the environment should always produce an aroma of God's goodness because you have spent time with Him. Spending that precious time with God will turn a hostile situation around to what matters most.

Oh, Loving God, how great it is to spend time with you! Your presence gives me a feeling that I have never felt before, and I never want to be without you again. Thank you for showing me that I can always take your presence with me no matter where I am. In Jesus' name, Amen.
