“I’m giving you a new command: Love one another. You must love one another just as I have loved you. If you do love one another, then everyone will know that you are my disciples.”

I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you should also wash one another’s feet. I’ve given you an example. You should do as I have done for you.

Jesus answered, “You don’t realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.”

Truly I tell you, a slave is not greater than his master. A messenger isn’t greater than the one who sends him.

Now that you know these things, you’ll be blessed if you do them.

So he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothes, and wrapped a towel around his waist. After that, he poured water into a large bowl and began to wash his disciples’ feet. He dried them with the towel that was wrapped around him.
