Focus to Flourish: 7 Days to Align Your Life and Art With God’s Best

Create: Do the Work You Were Made For

There was a season in my life when I stopped creating altogether. I told myself I was too busy. In truth, I was trying to be more productive for the Lord. But one day, in a quiet moment with the Lord, I felt His nudge to get back in the studio. What poured out wasn’t necessarily polished—it was healing. Color and passion flowed. Texture formed and life came back to me. Although messy and unrefined, it reminded me: creating isn’t a luxury. It’s how I connect with the Creator. It’s obedience. It’s worship.

You were made in the image of the Creator. That means creating is not just something you do—it’s part of who you are. When you make, paint, write, build, design, sing, or dream—you reflect God’s heart.

Genesis shows us that God created and then blessed humanity to “be fruitful.” Fruitfulness is in your spiritual DNA. In Colossians 3:23, Paul urges us to “work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.” This means your art, your tasks, your emails, your sketchbooks—when offered to God—become holy.

In Core4, “Create” is not just about inspiration—it’s about intention. It’s showing up to the studio, the journal, or the canvas in partnership with the Holy Spirit. It's building momentum by creating consistently—even when it’s messy or small.

Exodus 31 reminds us of Bezalel, filled with the Spirit and skill, to create beauty for God's glory. That’s your invitation, too.

Reflection Question:
What creative expression feels most alive to you right now?

Prayer Prompt:
Holy Spirit, anoint my hands. Help me create with You and not just for You.
