Moun lòt nasyon yo ki pa sikonsi men k'ap obeyi lalwa a, yo gen pou yo jije ou, ou menm jwif k'ap dezobeyi lalwa a atout ou gen liv lalwa a nan men ou, atout ou sikonsi a. Se pa aparans ki fè moun jwif tout bon, ni se pa mak sikonsizyon ki sikonsizyon tout bon. Jwif ki jwif tout bon, se moun ki jwif nan kè yo. Sikonsizyon tout bon an, se sikonsizyon ki make kè moun. Sa se travay Lespri Bondye a, se pa travay lalwa ki ekri nan liv. Lwanj yon jwif konsa pa sòti nan men moun, men nan men Bondye.

Cet homme-là n’est pas circoncis dans son corps, mais il obéit à la loi. Eh bien, c’est lui qui te jugera, toi qui n’obéis pas à la loi. Et pourtant, tu as la loi écrite et la circoncision ! Non, le vrai Juif, ce n’est pas celui qui se conduit extérieurement comme un Juif, et la vraie circoncision, ce n’est pas la marque faite sur le corps. Le vrai Juif, c’est celui qui est juif au-dedans, et la vraie circoncision, c’est celle du cœur. Elle vient de l’Esprit de Dieu et non de la loi écrite. Le vrai Juif ne reçoit pas sa louange des gens, il la reçoit de Dieu.

Se Sentespri a ki fè l, se pa yon Lwa ekri ki fè sa. Epi nenpòt moun Sentespri a sikonsi nan kè l, li resevwa lwanj ki soti nan Bondye.

The one who is not circumcised physically and yet obeys the law will condemn you who, even though you have the written code and circumcision, are a lawbreaker. A person is not a Jew who is one only outwardly, nor is circumcision merely outward and physical. No, a person is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code. Such a person’s praise is not from other people, but from God.

Et cet homme qui accomplit la Loi sans être physiquement circoncis ne va-t-il pas te condamner, toi qui désobéis à la Loi tout en possédant les Ecritures et la circoncision ? Car ce n’est pas ce qui est visible qui fait le Juif, ni la marque visible dans la chair qui fait la circoncision, mais ce qui fait le Juif c’est ce qui est intérieur, et la vraie circoncision est celle que l’Esprit opère dans le cœur et non celle que l’on pratique en obéissant à la lettre de la Loi. Tel est le Juif qui reçoit sa louange, non des hommes, mais de Dieu.
