Moyiz di l konsa: — Tanpri, pa kite nou pou kont nou. Se ou ki konnen dènye kote nou ka moute tant nou yo nan dezè a. W'a sèvi nou gid. Si ou vini ak nou, w'a gen pa ou nan tout byen Senyè a ap ban nou.

Moïse dit à Hobab, fils de son beau-père madianite Réouel : « Nous partons pour le pays que le SEIGNEUR a promis de nous donner. Viens avec nous, nous te ferons participer aux bienfaits que le SEIGNEUR a promis de donner à Israël. » Hobab répond : « Non ! Je préfère retourner dans mon pays et dans ma famille. » Moïse lui dit : « S’il te plaît, ne nous abandonne pas ! Tu connais les endroits où nous pourrons camper dans le désert. Tu seras notre guide. Si tu viens avec nous, nous te ferons participer aux bienfaits que le SEIGNEUR va nous donner. »

Now Moses said to Hobab son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses’ father-in-law, “We are setting out for the place about which the LORD said, ‘I will give it to you.’ Come with us and we will treat you well, for the LORD has promised good things to Israel.” He answered, “No, I will not go; I am going back to my own land and my own people.” But Moses said, “Please do not leave us. You know where we should camp in the wilderness, and you can be our eyes. If you come with us, we will share with you whatever good things the LORD gives us.”

Moïse dit à Hobab, fils de son beau-père Reouel le Madianite : Nous partons pour la contrée que l’Eternel a promis de nous donner. Viens donc avec nous ; tu t’en trouveras bien car l’Eternel a promis de faire du bien à Israël. Hobab lui répondit : Je ne te suivrai pas, je préfère retourner dans mon pays auprès de ma famille. Moïse insista : Ne nous quitte pas, je te prie ; car tu connais bien ce désert et les endroits où nous pourrons y installer notre camp, et tu pourras nous servir de guide. Si tu nous accompagnes, nous te ferons participer au bonheur que l’Eternel va nous accorder.
